But you are wondering why this is the case and how it might impact your interview with the candidate? This article will help you to be perfectly prepared and ensures all your questions are answered.

The Benefits

Having your call automatically recorded will help you to focus on the conversation by reducing the need to take notes and handle multiple screens during the interview. The recording and generated insights will be available to you afterwards to help you make the right decisions.

Get ready in three steps

Here is what you need to do to get prepared for your recorded interview:

  1. Verify the Recording & Consent Status:

    Check the Interviews section on your dashboard to see if the recording is active for your upcoming interview. In general, recordings are managed by the recruiter, but can also be enabled by activating “Interview Intelligence”on your dashboard or by adding assistant@phenom.com to the invite.

    Candidates have been informed about the recording in advance and made aware of the benefits for them and the hiring process. They actively decided not to opt-out of the recording. In case of an opt-out, you’ll receive an email and you can also see the decision in the interview section on your dashboard. Learn more about the opt-out process here.

  2. Open Interview Assistant:
    Use the Interview Assistant before and during the call to provide candidates the best interview experience. It will help you get prepared by providing all necessary information about the candidate and lay out the interview questions to guide you through the call.

  3. Start the Interview & Remind the Candidate:
    In the beginning of every call, all participants are reminded that the meeting is being recorded. Based on your video provider, you might either see the meeting recording in the background (Zoom, MS Teams), or a recording bot will ask to enter the call (Google Meet).

    It is IMPORTANT, that you allow the bot enter the meeting! Otherwise, the conversation will not be recorded.

    To make the candidate feel comfortable, you can communicate the reason and benefits to the candidate again. Highlight the more objective and faster decision making process through the rewatch, insights and collaboration functionalities.
